myTips! Rules & Scoring

 

myTips! is a tipping competition focused on horse racing. The competition runs for a 10 week period over the Spring carnival with a pre-determined set of races included for selection. Typically this is 8-12 races each Saturday, including the major group races as well as some key mid week races. On a weekly basis punters select horses from the specified list of races on myTips!. Points are awarded depending on where the horse places, the horse price, if it is a bonus race or if the punter feels the runner is a good thing (refer scoring below). All races points are accumulated for the day and the leaderboard updated. The competition has a single entry fee of $50 with all monies paid out in prizes. myTips! Admin will be in contact regarding payment upon joining. A weekly prize of $100-$200 is awarded for the highest points accumulated for each individual week. A once off prize of $200 is paid to host the application in the cloud. The top three punters with the highest points accumulated at the end of the competition are the winners and will share in the remaining prize money. This is typically around $2,000 depending on the average of 65 punters in the comp. Tips must be entered before 12pm on race day (unless specified earlier). A punter will recieve zero points for any tip not entered or if a horse is scratched. At 12pm races are locked and punters will be able to view all other punters tips before the races begin. Weekly emails will be sent summarizing selections and results and advising of the next weeks closure time. To enter the myTips! competition and submit tips follow the instructions below.

• Login

  A Punter requires a Login Id and password is to submit and view tips.

  If you do not have a Login id, you can join the comp from the main menu or login screen. If you wish to change your password or have forgotten your password this can be completed from the main menu or login screen. Joining the comp and resetting a forgotten password requires email verification. If you have any issues contact myTips!here!

   

• Main Menu

  A logged in user can select the Enter Tips option (to maintain their tips), View Tips option (to see every Punters tips in the comp), Results (to view race results) and Ladder (to view the competition ladder).

  The Desktop app provides the same options available via the Mobile app as well as having administrations function where the administrator can create and maintain users, competitions, events, races and import data for race entries and results.

  




• Enter Tips

  The Enter & Update Tips screen provides a list of all races available to be selected for the competition week.

  1. Select the particular Week No. from the pull down menu and select Ok.

  2. Clicking on the Race No. provides a link to the race form for the particular race on www.tab.com.

  3. Choose a horse Selection and/or a Good Thing (GT) option. Changes are automatically saved and Entry Updated displayed.

     A Good Thing (GT) will alter race points if the horse wins or looses, but beware! - see Scoring & Calculations details below.

     The Starting price is provided with each horse selection. This is only an indication of the price and points are calculated using the published result dividend.
